How to differentiate Between Allergies, Intolerances and Sensitivities
Even though food allergies, food intolerances, and food sensitivities can share some of the symptoms of often overlap, there are still difference between each one of them. these are different conditions.
Food Allergy happens when the immune system attacking its own cells in response to gluten intake that can lead to Coeliac disease later and turn into an autoimmune disease. So, Gluten is not a harmful substance, but the reaction of the Immune System for some will become a problem.
Food Intolerance a refers to a difficulty digesting certain food due to lack of the body’s ability to produce enough Enzymes to digest the ingested food. A good example is Lactose found in milk, that can end with severe gut pain and Diarrhoea for some people.
Finally, food sensitivities such as caffeine will amplify for some people if they drink coffee night time. Those people will find that the last cup of Coffee can be drank by 3 or 4 pm, otherwise they will suffer from insomnia or light sleeping.
